The Chemical Thermodynamics Group specialises in experimental thermodynamics (calorimetry, thermal analysis and vapour pressure measurements) and thermodynamic calculations. We focus on those thermal analysis techniques most closely related to thermodynamics, namely DSC, DTA and TGA and also have considerable expertise in microcalorimetry, isothermal calorimetry and adiabatic calorimetry. Our facilities include a building dedicated to high performance thermodynamic equipment. We offer a consultation service to industrial laboratories and research institutes who require the specialist knowledge and equipment necessary for thermodynamic investigations.
