Chemical Thermodynamics Group

The Chemical Thermodynamics Group specialises in experimental thermodynamics (calorimetry, thermal analysis and vapour pressure measurements) and thermodynamic calculations. We focus on those thermal analysis techniques most closely related to thermodynamics, namely DSC, DTA and TGA and also have considerable expertise in microcalorimetry, isothermal calorimetry and adiabatic calorimetry. We boast a research history of over thirty years, a substantial publication record and academic reputation. The Chemical Thermodynamics Group co-operates with several research groups from foreign universities, in particular with partners in the REALM network (Réseau Européen sur les Alliages Moléculaires) and we also offer a consultation service to external customers.
